UCTE (Union for the Coordination of Transmission of Electricity)
UCTE (Union for the Coordination of Transmission of Electricity) was a European organization responsible for managing and coordinating the high-voltage electricity transmission network across several countries. Its role was to ensure reliable, efficient, and stable flow of electricity between national grids, preventing blackouts and optimizing energy use. By coordinating operations, UCTE helped maintain a synchronized, interconnected power system, enabling countries to share resources and respond effectively to demand or outages. In 2009, UCTE merged into ENTSO-E, which now oversees Europe's integrated transmission network.
