UCC Articles

UCC Articles are sections of a set of laws called the Uniform Commercial Code, which standardize commercial transactions across U.S. states. They cover different areas: Article 1 provides general principles and definitions; Article 2 governs the sale of goods; Article 3 addresses negotiable instruments like checks; Article 4 deals with bank deposits and collections; and Article 9 covers secured transactions, such as loans backed by collateral. These articles create consistent rules to facilitate business and commerce, ensuring clarity and fairness when individuals and businesses buy, sell, lend, or secure interests in property.
