UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems)

Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) are comprehensive platforms that include a drone (also called an unmanned aerial vehicle or UAV), its control station, and the communication links between them. They enable remote or automated flight without a human onboard. UAS are used in various fields such as surveillance, agriculture, delivery services, and photography. They can vary in size from small handheld devices to large aircraft, equipped with sensors, cameras, or other technology to perform specific tasks efficiently and safely, often replacing traditional manned aircraft for operations that are difficult, risky, or cost-prohibitive for humans.
