U.S. Senate candidate
A U.S. Senate candidate is a person running for a seat in the United States Senate, one of the two chambers of Congress that makes laws. To become a candidate, they usually campaign by sharing their ideas and policies, and seek support from voters in their state. If they win the most votes in the election, they become a U.S. Senator and help make national laws, shape policies, and represent the interests of their state. Senate candidates can be members of political parties or run as independents.
