U.S. Court System
The U.S. court system is divided into federal and state courts. Federal courts handle cases involving federal laws, disputes between states, and cases involving diverse parties from different states. The system includes trial courts (where cases are first heard), appellate courts (which review decisions from trial courts), and the Supreme Court, the highest court that settles important legal issues. State courts deal with local laws and most criminal and civil cases. Each court has its own structure, but they all aim to ensure justice by interpreting laws and resolving disputes fairly.
