U.S. Congressman

A U.S. Congressman is an elected representative who serves in the United States Congress, the federal legislative body. There are two types: Senators and House Representatives. House members, called Congressmen or Congresswomen, represent specific districts within states, and their main role is to create, debate, and pass laws that affect the entire country. They also oversee government activities, approve budgets, and represent the interests of their constituents. Elections are held every two years, and their work helps shape national policies on issues like healthcare, education, and the economy.
