Tynwald

Tynwald is the historic parliament of the Isle of Man, one of the oldest continuous lawmakers in the world, dating back over a thousand years. It serves as the island’s legislative body, where laws are proposed, debated, and approved. Tynwald consists of two branches: the House of Keys and the Legislative Council. Meetings combine modern parliamentary procedures with traditional ceremonies, reflecting the island’s unique heritage. Tynwald also upholds the island’s autonomy, managing local laws and governance while remaining a Crown dependency under the British Crown.
