Tympanoplasty
Tympanoplasty is a surgical procedure to repair or reconstruct the eardrum (tympanic membrane) and sometimes small bones in the middle ear. This is usually done to restore hearing loss caused by a perforation (hole) or damage from infections, injuries, or chronic ear conditions. During the operation, a surgeon gently lifts the ear's outer part, repairs the damaged eardrum, and may use grafts like tissue from behind the ear or the lining of the mouth. The goal is to seal the hole, improve hearing, and prevent recurrent infections, empowering the patient with better ear health and sound perception.
