Twin Towers (North Tower, South Tower)
The Twin Towers, also known as the North Tower and South Tower, were two massive skyscrapers in New York City’s World Trade Center. Completed in the early 1970s, they symbolized global commerce and innovation. The North Tower (built first) was designated as Tower 1, and the South Tower as Tower 2. Each stood 110 stories high, featuring a distinctive rectangular design with a central atrium. On September 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked airplanes and crashed into the towers, causing their collapse and resulting in significant loss of life. The event profoundly impacted security, architecture, and the collective consciousness worldwide.
