Twin Towers

The Twin Towers were two nearly identical skyscrapers in New York City, part of the World Trade Center complex, completed in the early 1970s. Each tower was 110 stories tall, making them among the tallest buildings at the time. Designed to maximize office space and symbolize economic strength, they featured a unique structural design with a central core and external steel columns. On September 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked airplanes and intentionally crashed them into the towers, causing their collapse and resulting in significant loss of life. The event had profound global impacts, prompting changes in security and urban planning.
