Twelver Shiism
Twelver Shiism is the largest branch of Shia Islam, believing that Prophet Muhammad’s rightful successor was his cousin and son-in-law, Ali, followed by a specific line of twelve Imams, spiritual and political leaders divinely chosen. These Imams are seen as infallible guides who provide authentic interpretation of Islam. Central to Twelver belief is the concept of Imamate, emphasizing loyalty to these leaders. The faith combines reverence for the Imams with devotion, rituals like Ashura commemorating Imam Husayn’s martyrdom, and a hope for justice and divine guidance through their spiritual lineage.
