Tuvan people
The Tuvan people are an indigenous ethnic group native to Tuva, a region in southern Siberia, Russia. They traditionally practice nomadic herding, especially of livestock like sheep, horses, and camels, and are renowned for their vibrant throat singing, a unique vocal technique. Culturally, they blend Turkic and Mongolic influences, maintaining rich traditions in music, shamanism, and craftsmanship. While many Tuva now live in settled communities, their heritage still plays a vital role in their identity. Their language, Tuvan, is a Turkic language, and their cultural expressions are recognized UNESCO intangible heritage, symbolizing their close relationship with nature and ancestral spirituality.
