Turkish National Liberation Movement
The Turkish National Liberation Movement was a political and military effort in the early 20th century to establish an independent Turkish state. During World War I, the Ottoman Empire faced defeat and occupation by foreign powers. Turkish leaders and resistance groups, led by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, sought to defend Turkish sovereignty, abolish imperial control, and create a modern, unified nation. This movement culminated in the Turkish War of Independence (1919-1923), resulting in the foundation of the Republic of Turkey in 1923, emphasizing sovereignty, national identity, and modernization.
