turbofan engine

A turbofan engine is a type of jet engine that powers most commercial airplanes. It works by drawing in a large amount of air, compressing it, and mixing it with fuel to create combustion. The resulting high-speed exhaust gases propel the aircraft forward. Most of the airflow passes through a large fan at the front of the engine, which produces additional thrust more efficiently and quietly than older engines. This design allows for a good balance of power, fuel efficiency, and lower noise levels, making turbofan engines ideal for long-distance travel.
