Tunisian Revolution

The Tunisian Revolution was a series of protests in 2010-2011 that led to the overthrow of President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali’s government. Citizens were frustrated with high unemployment, corruption, and lack of political freedoms. Demonstrations started in the town of Sidi Bouzid and spread nationwide, fueled by social media and shared grievances. The movement succeeded in ending Ben Ali’s 23-year rule and inspired similar uprisings across the Arab world, known as the Arab Spring. It marked a shift toward greater hopes for democracy and reform in Tunisia.
