Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields)
Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) are a cancer therapy that uses low-intensity, alternating electric fields to disrupt the division of cancer cells. These fields interfere with the processes necessary for tumor cells to multiply, such as forming the structures needed for cell division. Applied through specialized transducer arrays placed on the skin, TTFields aim to selectively target and inhibit cancer growth while minimizing damage to healthy tissue. This non-invasive treatment is often used alongside other therapies for certain cancers, like glioblastoma, helping to improve disease control with fewer side effects.
