Tulving's model
Tulving's model of memory distinguishes two main types: episodic and semantic. Episodic memory involves recalling specific personal experiences and events, like your last birthday. Semantic memory involves general knowledge and facts, such as knowing that Paris is the capital of France. Tulving proposed that these two types of memory are stored and processed differently in the brain but work together to help us learn, remember, and navigate the world. He emphasized that episodic memories are tied to personal context, while semantic memories are more about shared knowledge independent of specific moments.
