Tulving's memory model
Tulving's memory model proposes that human memory is divided into three primary types: episodic, semantic, and procedural. Episodic memory stores personal experiences and specific events, like remembering your last birthday. Semantic memory holds general knowledge and facts, such as knowing Paris is the capital of France. Procedural memory relates to skills and how to perform tasks, like riding a bike. These different types of memory work together to help us navigate the world, learn, and recall information based on whether we’re recalling personal experiences, general facts, or performing skills.
