Tulving

Endel Tulving was a cognitive psychologist known for his work on memory. He proposed that human memory has different systems, primarily distinguishing between episodic memory—our ability to recall personal experiences with specific events—and semantic memory, which involves general knowledge and facts. This distinction helps explain how we remember detailed life events versus more abstract information. Tulving’s research has been influential in understanding how memory functions and how different types of memories are stored and retrieved in the brain.
