Tullio phenomenon

The Tullio phenomenon occurs when sounds or loud noises trigger involuntary eye movements or dizziness due to abnormal fluid flow within the inner ear. Normally, the inner ear helps control balance, but if there’s a tear or defect in the ear's structures, sound can stimulate the balance organs erroneously. This causes symptoms like dizziness, vertigo, or eye movements in response to loud noises. It’s often associated with conditions like perilymph fistula or superior canal dehiscence syndrome, indicating an abnormal connection or opening in the inner ear that alters how sound and balance signals are processed.
