Tulis Batik

Tulis Batik is a traditional Indonesian textile art that combines two techniques: "tulis," meaning to write or draw, and "batik," a method of dyeing fabric using wax to create intricate patterns. In Tulis Batik, artisans hand-draw detailed designs directly onto fabric with special tools and wax, enabling precise control over the motifs. After the design is complete, the fabric is dyed, and the wax resists the dye in specific areas, revealing the artwork once the wax is removed. This method produces highly detailed and culturally significant textiles, reflecting Indonesia’s rich artistic heritage.
