TTY technology
TTY (Teletypewriter) technology enables people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech-impaired to communicate over the phone. It uses a specialized device with a keyboard and screen, allowing written text to be sent and received in real-time. When one person types a message, it appears instantly on the other person's TTY screen, facilitating a direct, text-based conversation. TTYs often connect through phone lines, and may require a special compatibility with the telephone network. This technology provides accessible, two-way communication for those unable to use traditional voice calls.
