Tsar Bomba
The Tsar Bomba, tested by the Soviet Union in 1961, is the most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated. With an estimated yield of 50 megatons, it was designed to showcase Soviet nuclear capabilities during the Cold War. The bomb's explosion produced a massive fireball and a mushroom cloud that reached about 40 miles high, devastating a wide area. While it demonstrated immense destructive power, its impractical size limited its military use. The Tsar Bomba remains a symbol of the extreme potential of nuclear weapons and the geopolitical tensions of its time.
