Trustor

A Trustor, also known as a grantor or settlor, is the person or entity that creates and establishes a trust. They transfer assets—such as money, property, or investments—into the trust to be managed according to specific instructions outlined in the trust document. The Trustor sets the terms, determines who will benefit from the trust (the beneficiaries), and often designates a trustee to administer the trust assets. Essentially, the Trustor initiates the trust arrangement to control how their assets are managed and distributed, either during their lifetime or after their death.
