True Positive Rate

The True Positive Rate (TPR), also called sensitivity, measures how effectively a test identifies actual positive cases. In practical terms, it’s the proportion of true positives (correctly identified conditions) out of all people who truly have the condition. For example, if a medical test correctly detects 90 out of 100 patients with a disease, the TPR is 90%. A high TPR indicates the test is good at catching positives, reducing missed cases, which is crucial in screening and early detection.
