Trot

Trot is a gait used by horses, characterized by a two-beat diagonal rhythm where the front and opposite hind legs move together. It is faster than a walk but slower than a canter, providing a smooth and balanced movement suitable for both riding and harness racing. In harness racing, horses called "trotters" use this gait consistently during the race, often pulling a two-wheeled cart called a sulky. Proper trotting technique involves the horse maintaining rhythmic, controlled strides, which requires training and skill to ensure the gait remains steady and efficient.
