Tropical Prediction Center
The Tropical Prediction Center (TPC), part of the National Weather Service, is responsible for monitoring and forecasting tropical storms and hurricanes in the Atlantic and eastern Pacific Oceans. Its role is to track the development, movement, and strength of these storms to provide timely warnings and forecasts. This helps communities, emergency services, and governments prepare and respond effectively to minimize damage and protect lives. The TPC uses satellite data, weather models, and observations to make accurate predictions about storm behavior and potential impacts.
