Triremes

Triremes were ancient Greek warships used around the 5th century BCE, designed for speed and agility. They featured three rows of oars on each side, operated by teams of rowers who sat on different levels. The ship was long and slim, with a reinforced ram at the front called a "bronze beak" used to damage enemy vessels during battles. Triremes were essential in naval warfare, enabling swift maneuvers and ramming tactics, and played a key role in Greek naval dominance. Their design emphasized teamwork, speed, and tactical advantage at sea.
