Trendelenburg Test
The Trendelenburg Test is used to assess the strength of hip muscles, particularly the gluteus medius. The person stands on one leg while the examiner observes the pelvis. If the pelvis drops on the opposite side, it indicates weak hip abductor muscles on the standing leg’s side. The test helps identify hip instability or muscle weakness that may cause gait issues or hip problems. Proper muscle function is essential for maintaining balance and pelvic stability during movement.
