Trekboers

Trekboers were early Dutch-descended settlers in South Africa during the 17th and 18th centuries who moved their cattle and families across the land in search of grazing and better opportunities. They led mobile, semi-nomadic lifestyles, establishing farms along the frontier of European settlement, often venturing into interior regions beyond initial colonial borders. Their migration, called "trek," contributed to the expansion of European influence into the interior and played a key role in shaping South Africa's agricultural development and early history.
