Treaty of Trujillo

The Treaty of Trujillo was an agreement signed in 1827 between Central American countries and Spain, aiming to normalize diplomatic relations and address issues from their colonial past. It sought recognition of independence, economic cooperation, and efforts to resolve lingering disputes from Spanish rule. Although it marked a diplomatic step forward, actual cooperation was limited, and the treaty did not significantly alter the political landscape of Central America, which was still navigating post-independence challenges.
