Treaty of Thorn

The Treaty of Thorn, signed in 1466, was an agreement between the Kingdom of Poland and the Teutonic Knights, ending a series of conflicts over territorial control in the Baltic region. Under this treaty, the Teutonic Knights acknowledged Polish sovereignty over the city of Danzig (GdaƄsk) and surrounding areas, while keeping control of some territories. The treaty helped stabilize borders and initiated a peaceful period, though tensions between the two powers would continue. Overall, it marked a significant step in Polish efforts to consolidate control over the Baltic coast and diminish Teutonic influence.
