Treaty of Meissen

The Treaty of Meissen, signed in 1763, ended the Second Silesian War, part of the larger conflict known as the War of the Austrian Succession. It was an agreement between Austria and Prussia, solidifying Prussia's control over Silesia, a region rich in resources. This treaty reflected the shifting balance of power in Europe, as it affirmed Prussia's rising influence and Austria's territorial losses. Additionally, the treaty established a temporary peace between the two powers, which would play a significant role in European politics leading up to future conflicts, including the Seven Years' War.
