Treaty of Kars

The Treaty of Kars, signed in 1921, was an agreement between Turkey and the Soviet Union along with some neighboring nations. It finalized Turkey’s eastern borders, giving Turkey control over regions in northeastern Anatolia and parts of the Caucasus, including Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan. The treaty helped settle disputes after the Russian Revolution and the Turkish War of Independence, establishing peaceful borders and enabling Turkey to secure its territory. It also involved agreements on border demarcations, facilitating stable relations and cooperation between these countries moving forward.
