Treaty of Austerlitz
The Treaty of Austerlitz, signed on December 2, 1805, was an agreement between France and Russia following the Battle of Austerlitz during the Napoleonic Wars. France, led by Napoleon Bonaparte, defeated the combined armies of Austria and Russia. The treaty resulted in Austria ceding territories like Dalmatia and the Illyrian provinces to France, while Russia withdrew from the Third Coalition against France. It expanded Napoleon’s influence over Central Europe, solidifying his dominance in the region, and marked a significant step in his consolidation of power across much of Europe.
