transverse plane

The transverse plane is an imaginary flat surface that divides the human body into upper (top) and lower (bottom) parts. Imagine slicing a loaf of bread horizontally; the cut creates a top half and a bottom half. In anatomy, movements like rotating your head or twisting your torso occur around this horizontal plane. It helps us describe and understand how different parts of the body move and relate to each other in space during various activities.
