Transverse Myelitis

Transverse myelitis is a neurological condition where inflammation occurs in the spinal cord, disrupting communication between the brain and the body. This inflammation can damage nerve fibers, leading to symptoms such as pain, weakness, numbness, and in some cases, paralysis or loss of sensation below the affected area. The cause is often unknown but can be linked to infections, autoimmune disorders, or other inflammatory conditions. While it can develop suddenly or gradually, early diagnosis and treatment are important to reduce permanent damage and improve recovery outcomes.
