Transurethral Resection (TURBT)
Transurethral Resection (TURBT) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to diagnose and treat bladder tumors. A thin, flexible tube with a camera and a tool to remove tissue is inserted through the urethra into the bladder. The surgeon visualizes the tumor and uses the tool to carefully cut away abnormal tissue. This allows for removal of cancerous or suspicious growths without making an external incision. TURBT is commonly performed to diagnose bladder cancer, determine its stage, and remove tumors, providing both treatment and valuable information for further management.
