Transubstantiation's relation to Faith and Reason

Transubstantiation is the Catholic belief that during the Eucharist, the bread and wine truly become the body and blood of Christ, while maintaining their external appearances. Faith plays a central role, as believers trust this mystery beyond full human understanding. Reason helps explain how this change is possible within Doctrine, but the true nature is accepted through faith because it transcends empirical proof. Thus, faith and reason work together: reason supports the understanding of the doctrine, while faith embraces the divine mystery at its core.
