A Transportation Network Company (TNC) is a business that connects passengers with drivers through a digital platform, typically via a smartphone app. TNCs, such as Uber or Lyft, use technology to facilitate on-demand transportation services, enabling users to request rides from nearby drivers. These companies do not own vehicles or employ drivers as traditional taxi companies do; instead, drivers are independent contractors who use their own cars.
