transportation emissions

Transportation emissions refer to the greenhouse gases, primarily carbon dioxide (CO₂), released into the atmosphere from vehicles such as cars, trucks, ships, trains, and airplanes. These emissions result from burning fuels like gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel to power transportation methods. Since transportation is a major source of pollution, it contributes significantly to climate change by trapping heat in the atmosphere. Efforts to reduce transportation emissions include adopting cleaner fuels, improving vehicle efficiency, increasing public transportation use, and shifting to electric and alternative energy-powered vehicles.
