Transportation desegregation

Transportation desegregation refers to the process of eliminating racial segregation in public transportation systems, particularly in the United States. This movement gained significant momentum during the civil rights era, as activists worked to ensure that people of all races could sit and travel together without separation. Landmark events, such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955, highlighted the injustices faced by African Americans. Legal and social pressure eventually led to the dismantling of laws enforcing segregated seating and services in buses, trains, and other forms of public transport, promoting equality and access for all passengers.
