Transluminal Angioplasty

Transluminal angioplasty is a medical procedure used to open narrowed or blocked blood vessels, typically arteries. A doctor inserts a thin, flexible tube called a catheter with a small balloon at its tip into the blocked vessel through a blood vessel, often in the groin or arm. Once in place, the balloon is inflated to gently widen the artery and restore blood flow. Sometimes, a small device called a stent may be placed to help keep the artery open. This minimally invasive technique helps improve circulation and reduce symptoms like chest pain or risk of heart attack.
