Transgender patients

Transgender patients are individuals whose gender identity—their sense of who they are as male, female, or another gender—differs from the sex they were assigned at birth. They may seek medical or social support to align their outward appearance and life experience with their true gender identity. This can include hormone therapy, surgeries, or changes in name and pronouns. Respecting and understanding transgender patients involves using their chosen names and pronouns and providing affirming, non-judgmental healthcare that acknowledges their gender identity.
