Transfer credits
Transfer credits are academic credits earned at one college or university that can be applied toward a degree at another institution. When a student moves from one school to another, their previous coursework can often count toward their new program, helping them avoid retaking courses and saving time and money. The receiving institution reviews the transferred credits to determine which ones meet their requirements. Not all credits automatically transfer, as each school has its own policies, but transfer credits are meant to recognize prior learning and facilitate a smoother transition between schools.
