Trans youth

Transgender youth, or trans youth, are young people whose gender identity—their internal sense of who they are—differs from the sex they were assigned at birth. For example, a person assigned female at birth who identifies and lives as a boy. Recognizing and supporting trans youth is important for their mental health and well-being. They may explore their gender identity through various means, including social, medical, or mental health approaches, always respecting their individual journey. Providing understanding and affirming environments helps trans youth navigate their development with confidence and safety.
