Trade Wind Belt

The Trade Wind Belt is a zone near the Earth's equator where strong, steady winds called trade winds blow from east to west. These winds form because warm air rises near the equator, creating a low-pressure area, and then moves toward the subtropical regions, cooling and sinking. The belt spans roughly between 30 degrees north and south of the equator and influences weather patterns, ocean currents, and climate in tropical regions. These consistent winds have historically facilitated maritime navigation and continue to play a vital role in global climate systems.
