Trade languages

Trade languages are simplified languages used by people from different linguistic backgrounds to communicate and conduct business efficiently. Unlike native languages, trade languages focus on essential vocabulary and straightforward grammar, making them easy to learn and understand across cultures. Historically, they facilitated commerce by providing a common means of communication, especially among traders, merchants, and travelers. Examples include Swahili in East Africa and Mandarin in historical Sino-centric trade. Trade languages help bridge language barriers, streamline negotiations, and promote economic exchange without requiring mastering multiple complex languages.
