TPA (Tissue Plasminogen Activator)
Tissue Plasminogen Activator (tPA) is an enzyme used as a medication to help dissolve blood clots that can block blood flow to the brain or heart. It works by activating a natural process in the body that breaks down clots, restoring circulation and preventing tissue damage. tPA is most effective when given shortly after a clot-related stroke or heart attack. Because it can cause bleeding, it must be administered carefully under medical supervision and is not suitable for everyone. Its primary goal is to quickly restore blood flow and reduce the impact of clot-related emergencies.
