Torque Converter

A torque converter is a device in automatic transmissions that allows the engine to spin somewhat independently of the wheels. It uses fluid to smoothly transfer power from the engine to the transmission, enabling the vehicle to start moving gently without stalling. Inside, it consists of impeller, turbine, and stator components that work together to multiply torque during acceleration. Essentially, it acts as a flexible connection, providing smooth power transfer and enabling the vehicle to idle while in gear, ensuring seamless transitions from stop to motion without manual clutch operation.
